VBK lab video for worm meeting 2021

We thought it would be fun to ask folks in Hollywood and Santa Monica a few questions about C. elegans.  It was!

I fell in love with genetics (and C. elegans) while an undergraduate at the University of Calgary. I did my PhD in molecular biology at Princeton with  Dr. Trudi Schupbach, studying EGF signaling in Drosophila oogenesis. I moved back west, and back to worms, for my post-doctoral work at Caltech with Dr. Paul Sternberg, studying EGF signaling during development before stumbling into a discovery of a role for EGF in sleep. I've been at CSUN since 2011, trying to provide students the kind of opportunities that I've been fortunate to have.
